GATES (Global Air Transportation Execution System) Instructor Writer
Location: Fort Lee, Virginia
The Global Air Transportation Execution System instructor will provide classroom instruction as per the TRADOC POI for GATES.
Requirements:
Must be knowledgeable of the system and how it is utilized by the US Air Force Air Mobility Command, the Department of Defense (DOD), and commercial partners. Must understand and be able to instruct on subjects related to GATES’s automated functionality process, cargo tracking, passenger information, support management of resources, support scheduling and forecasting, provide logistical support information, generate standard and ad hoc reports, and provide message routing and delivery service for virtually all airlift data. Must be able to instruct and explain the use/relationship of GATES to its intended users, to include (but not limited to) Tanker Airlift Control Center (TACC), Airlift Clearance Authorities (ACAs), Service Airlift Validators, Passenger Reservation Centers, Military Transportation Offices (MTO), commercial reservation systems users, and various work centers such as the Air Terminal Operations Center. Must be a high school graduate or hold a GED as a minimum education level. Must have/had instructional experience in a military environment or similar venue and be able to address a class room of students on a daily basis. Must be able to work with computers and software to set up instruction and utilize and computers for teaching on a daily basis.
Duties:
Position requires daily classroom and functional instruction on the GATES functional user course. The instructor writer produces and instructs complete, self-contained Defense Transportation System and eployment/Movement Management training products. Products are maintained through continuous coordination with DOD, USTRANSCOM, FORSCOM, USAF and other agencies as affected. The instructor writer is required to adapt or revise their courses due to changes in subject matter. Instructor writer is fully responsible for the development, maintenance and instruction of varied courses and blocks of instruction that supports this area; instructor applies subject matter knowledge to development of the POIs, lesson plans and acquisition and application of training aids and for automated deployment systems (TC-AIMS, WPS, BCS3, FBCB2, GFMS, RFID/AIT, VSAT, etc). Develops and instructs complete, full-length courses (or major course units of comparable scope) to support US Army Transportation and Deployment training requirements. Instructor takes all necessary actions to acquire and maintain full technical competency on rapidly updated automated systems and to apply immerging tactics, techniques and procedures associated to Army doctrine change or CALL updates to formal courseware. Instructor independently determines need for initial or to update training tools or products.
